Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be flexible?

Absolutely not! Yoga is how you become more flexible. Our teachers work with bodies of all shapes, sizes, ages, and abilities. We use props to make poses accessible for everyone.

I have back pain / shoulder issues / [injury]. Can I still practice?

Yes! Many students come to us specifically for therapeutic work. Our certified teachers are trained to modify poses for injuries and help you build strength safely. Please let your teacher know about any concerns before class.

What's the difference between Iyengar and other yoga?

Iyengar Yoga emphasizes precision, alignment, and the use of props. Classes are slower-paced with detailed instruction—you actually understand what you're doing and why. It's less about flow and sweat, more about building lasting strength, flexibility, and body awareness.

How do I choose the right class?

Start with Foundations if you're new to Iyengar Yoga (any age and fitness level). If you're 55+, our Foundations 55+ class moves at a gentler pace. Not sure? Contact us—we're happy to help you find the perfect fit.

Is there parking near the studio?

Yes! We have a shared parking lot with Ogie's Restaurant. There's also free street parking after 6 PM and on weekends, plus the Hospital Trust Garage nearby.

Can I take classes online if I can't get to Providence?

Absolutely! Our livestream classes let you practice with us from anywhere in real-time. You'll still get the personal attention and community connection, just from your own home.
