Testimonials
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Though I’d done yoga quite a long time ago, I had never done Iyengar yoga. I’ve been surprisingly pleased with this different approach, and already find myself carrying what I’ve learned into my day-to-day. I’ve had improved posture and self-awareness and feel confident that I’m helping to fend off pains and problems that come with age as I get help undoing bad habits- some of which I didn’t even know I had. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and kind, and the community is friendly and welcoming.
— Rachel B.
Really can’t say enough about how experienced and dedicated the teachers at Iyengar Yoga Source are. Every class sequence is thoughtfully prepared for optimal results, with accommodations offered to those who need them. Teachings of the Iyengars are woven throughout as well to contribute to mental, as well as physical well-being. I leave each session feeling grateful for the instruction and happy that I made the effort to be there.

This is some of the highest quality of yoga instruction one can find anywhere. The classes are carefully sequenced and create an in-depth experience each time. The teachers mix friendliness and discipline perfectly. I am constantly impressed.

Classes

Foundations
Build strength, stability, and ease of movement through a well-rounded sequence of foundational postures. Standing poses fortify the legs, arms, spine, and core, while seated postures and back extensions help develop mobility and uprightness. With clear, step-by-step guidance, you'll improve balance and coordination in a way that’s accessible and sustainable. Most classes close with one or two restorative poses to encourage rest and integration.
Perfect for newcomers or anyone seeking a steady, grounding practice.
Class Times: Wednesdays 6:00 pm, Saturdays 1:00 pm (In-Studio Only), Sundays 10:00 am

Intermediate
This class builds strength, flexibility, and refinement by rotating weekly through different categories of postures—standing poses to invigorate and refresh, forward bends to lengthen muscles and quiet the mind, backbends to maintain vitality, and restoratives with pranayama for recovery and breath awareness. This structured approach ensures a well-rounded practice with exposure to all major families of asanas and pranayama. We recommend a strong foundation in practice before moving to this level. Postures are taught in stages, offering a lifetime of material to explore and deepen your understanding.
Class Times: Mondays 5:30 pm (Livestream only), Mondays 6:00 pm, Wednesdays 7:30 am+, Wednesdays 10:00 am, Thursdays 11:00 am (Livestream), Fridays 10:00 am+, Saturdays 10:00 am, Sundays 8:00 am+

Restoratives
Sundays at 5:30 PM
A practice for those who want a weekly restorative class or just to drop in. This class will use a variety of props to support the body, refresh the nerves and calm the mind. A great way to end your week!

Foundations 55+
Mondays 10:00 am, Tuesdays 9:30 am (Tuesday class is online only)
Designed for those experiencing age-related changes such as stiffness, arthritis, or osteoporosis. This class supports mobility, strength, and confidence in movement—with thoughtful pacing and clear guidance.

Pranayama
Mondays at 8 AM
Prana means energy or life force, and pranayama channels this energy within the body. In a typical class, we begin in supported Savasana for deep relaxation and progress to reclining and seated pranayamas. All levels are welcome, and the class is structured to be accessible for those new to pranayama. Yoga experience recommended.

On the Ropes
Sundays at 4:00 PM; Offered every 4 weeks (see schedule for upcoming dates)
Inspired by B.K.S. Iyengar’s tradition of Yoga Kurunta, this special class invites you to explore the rope wall and experience familiar postures in new and insightful ways. The ropes provide support and traction, allowing you to stay longer in poses, explore alignment more deeply, and practice with confidence. Open to all levels—no prior rope wall experience needed. Learn more about the rope wall.

No prior study required—just curiosity and a willingness to engage with the ideas that shape our practice both on and off the mat. Sign up on our schedule to attend.
🗓 Offered online via Zoom on the 3rd or 4th Sunday of the month, from 7:00–8:00 PM (see schedule for upcoming dates)

Our Location: While some of our students drive 1-2 hours to experience the precision and depth of the Iyengar Method with our expert instructors, we hope you’re nearby in Providence and can join us more easily!
